Food is an important part of the Horse and Jockey.

The Horse and Jockey prides itself on offering a wide range of foods, to cater for different appetites and especially Coeliacs - clearly identifying Gluten free meals - it is interesting to note that some people with IBS can also gain relief by reducing/removing the Gluten in their diets...

...we can also cater for some other dietary requirements (but not nut allergies) with the same care and attention to detail - please check when booking.

Coeliacs are individuals who have an auto-immune response to gluten in their diet, it is a purely hereditary condition - Coeliacs coming to dine at the Horse and Jockey can be certain of the integrity of their food being gluten free as Helen (Landlady) is a Coeliac herself -  The kitchen uses a separate preparation area and separate fryers for gluten free food.

All dishes are prepared (where appropriate) and cooked on the premises, with locally sourced produce by the two chefs and cater for a wide range of tastes and dietary requirements - please ring and ask if your needs are not catered for on the menu. We strive to cater for most dietary needs (i.e. lactose intolerant, low residual, diabetes - with the exception of nut allergies).
